Objectives

We aimed to use the graphic recording method in education and training processes, as it would be an important contribution to our students' ability to make information meaningful, to understand the connections between concepts, and to take notes that they can repeat outside of the classroom. For this purpose, we aimed primarily for the pilot team to receive training in this field, gradually learning the method from different branches of teachers in different schools and recording their learning processes with this method. We aimed to use this method not only in formal education but also in our schools' local, national and international projects. In the longer term, we aimed for students to learn graphic recording methods adapted to their level, and to enrich their notes with visuals and mind diagrams.

Background

The academic success average of Seferihisar District Directorate of National Education is below the European standards. From this point of view, we conducted a serach with the representatives of the district directorate, school administrators and guidance teachers, socio-economic differences, equal opportunities, time allocated to learning, academic expectations of students, pre-school education status, absenteeism, teacher performances, registration of information, use of information and practice-based activities were examined. emerged as the main reasons for the emergence of the result. In line with the 2023 Education Vision targets of the Ministry of National Education, when the criteria in the list were examined, we decided that one of the most basic areas we can contribute as teachers is the title of "recording information". From this point of view, we aimed to provide students with notes that are enjoyable to study, effective and suitable for reuse by using the graphic recording method, which is widely used in Europe today. Since it is not a common subject in Turkey, we planned the education in Italy and applied for the Erasmus+ program.
