Within this project our participants in primary schools of our province are aimed to acquire new teaching methods, approaches and techniques in violence prevention studies. In addition to the developments in our province, we aimed to disseminate by integrating innovation and development in Europe into educational activities in our country as a result of our participants' experiences in schools run in European standards through European mobility activities. With our Erasmus+ project which will contribute to the training of innovative, equipped and high-quality staff, we wanted to increase the awareness of the fairy tale telling technique in education, which is known and applied in educational institutions in Europe and to encourage the planned implementation by our teachers. Although studies have been carried out to reduce violence-based communication in schools in our province we found the professional observation to achieve the effect that we are aiming for is highly valuable for teachers from our 10 consortium schools where violence is intense in our province. In addition to all these, we aimed to establish professional collaborations with international standards between our provincial schools and Germany and Spain.
As the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education some studies have been carried out to correct negative behaviors and prevent violence in schools in our province, although they have been determined to be insufficient. As a result of these observations we formed a consortium consisting of 10 schools including Korozo Primary School, Hasanpaşa Primary School, Toki Şehit Efkan Kiran Primary School, ITO Şehit Er Dursun Sıvaz Elementary School, Dede Korkut Elementary School, Suleyman Çelebi Primary School, Bağcılar Atatürk Primary School, Republic Primary School, Turkish Swedish Brotherhood Primary School, Toki Adil Primary School where violence was observed. As we aim to develop the professional visions of our teachers and create safe school environments by combating the growing trend of violence our main motivation was primarily the need to address the lack of knowledge, experience, skills, motivation and competence of our teachers. In line with EU 2020 Education Goals and Turkey 2023 Education Vision we have successfully completed our Erasmus+ “No Violence, There Are Tales” project to ensure that teachers learn effective methods and techniques in dealing with violence in European standards to minimize violence in schools.
