Background

The Patient Elderly Care service is planned in accordance with the needs of the sick person and is offered by health professionals experienced in all fields, from home doctor examination to nursing services, using special home care technology. A quality patient care not only shortens the length of stay in hospitals, reduces health costs, but also increases the success of treatment by ensuring the full compliance of the patient and the family with treatment. If home care services are provided for these patients, the length of stay in hospitals is shortened, and possible complications are prevented after proper follow-up of treatments. The need for nurse assistants who are specialized in patient and elderly care services, equipped with modern, new techniques and technologies, have moral values, are helpful, respectful, know the subtleties of the profession, entrepreneurial, communicative, innovative is increasing day by day. We decided to prepare this internship project in order to educate the students in the patient and elderly care department of our school in the way that the sector wants, to improve their professional knowledge and competencies.
