Background

In parallel with the developments in the technological field, the increase in the average life expectancy and the spread of public health services increase the need for trained personnel as well as institutions and organizations that provide care, rehabilitation and medical treatment services to the elderly, sick and disabled people. Despite the increase in the need for services in the field of elderly care in our country, the nursing and elderly care trainings in our schools are far from the content and quality to meet the needs in this field. It is seen that the students cannot gain the qualifications required by their profession with the vocational trainings and workplace internships given in our school. This opinion is expressed by both teachers working in vocational education, students and employers. It is necessary to develop employment skills of students with on-the-job training. One of the biggest problems encountered in business internships is that students are employed in simple jobs and outside their professional fields, and professional skill development cannot be achieved. On the other hand, the biggest complaint of the business officials in the health sector is the inability to find qualified manpower.
