Background

Today, the development of the vocational education system, the training of qualified personnel required by the labor market, the reduction of the unemployment rate with qualified labor force and the increase of the competitiveness of the labor market are the key factors in the development of our country's economy, and these factors are the issues that are emphasized in the development plans, national strategies and regional plans. has been. When we take a look at the "Vocational and Technical Strategy and Action Plan" published by the Ministry of National Education, important studies are encouraged to develop vocational education and train qualified personnel who can meet the requirements of the labor market. One of the vocational training areas of our school is the Metal Technologies Area. With the intense demands in this area in our region, the interest in Metal Technology is increasing. This department, which could not find students before, has been in high demand in recent years. One of the important factories of our country, Kdz. The fact that the Ereğli and Karabük Iron and Steel factories operate in our region and the need for qualified welders in these factories in recent times is one of the reasons that increase the interest in Metal Technology in our region. The concentration of the labor market in our region on iron and steel increases the need for qualified personnel in welding in this sector day by day. Our school gives importance to train qualified personnel who can meet the requirements of the labor market in terms of welding in our region in the field of Metal Technology. Our institution needs to make this quality that it has achieved in vocational education sustainable and to increase the quality of vocational education to the level of other vocational education institutions both at national and international level. In this context; Our vision is to bring to our country patriotic individuals who are candidates to become world citizens, have high self-confidence, are successful, enterprising, productive, solution-oriented, open to development and can carry their culture forward; With this success, our aim is to become a leading educational institution in the field of education both in Turkey and in the international community. Our mission is to raise successful individuals who have strong national and moral values, carry themselves to the country's industry organizations, question, produce ideas, are prone to teamwork, set their goals in higher education, and develop strategies to reach these goals. In our region where the Iron and Steel industry is at the forefront (as one of the important industrial sectors of our country, Ereğli D.Ç. and Karabük D.Ç. factories operate in our region), the need for qualified personnel in the field of welding is increasing. This issue was clearly expressed in our bilateral meetings with the education department of the Karabük Iron and Steel Factory, where our students are most employed after graduation. However, the technological inadequacy of the welding equipment in the Metal Technologies workshops in our school prevents our students from gaining professional competence at a level that can meet the expectations of the labor market. Our students studying in the field of Metal Technologies receive training with machines that are technologically behind the times, which causes our students to have a qualification below the expectations of the sector. With this project, our students will learn about welding in enterprises during their internship activities abroad, and especially in the subjects of Electric Arc Welding, Argon Welding (Tig), Oxy-Gas Welding, Electric Resistance Welding, Mig-Mag and Submerged Submerged Welding, which are popular today and need qualified personnel in this field. participated in internships. During the 3-week internship, our students gained professional competence to meet the requirements of the labor market by making applications with technological and modern devices on welding in enterprises. In this context, the objectives of our project were as follows; 1. To provide our students with professional competence in welding at a level that can meet the expectations of the labor market. 2. To develop our students' communication competence in a foreign language. 3. To increase our students' desire to learn, their motivation to learn and their learning performance. 4. To ensure that our students gain experience in European study and business discipline. 5. To increase the self-confidence of our students 6. To provide our students with an entrepreneurial spirit. 7. We aimed to enable our students to get acquainted with European culture and to gain awareness of Europeanness.
