Objectives

Lifelong learning is one of the most important elements, emphasized in the 10th Development Plan of Turkey. Our project contributed to the increase in participation in Lifelong Learning and our country's achievement of EU targets. The EU country shared knowledge and experience with partner institutions through course activities and had the opportunity to see successful practices on site. In this way, our centers have increased their management and personnel competencies with new teaching methods and tools, and contributed to the achievement of international education quality for curriculum and teaching, which can adapt to international innovations with transnational cooperation.

Background

We have carried out this project as three Adult Education Centers with common needs. With this partnership, we aim to achieve a certain synergy in the area of Adult Education in the region. The coordinator is Alaca Adult Education Center and the partners are Çorum Adult Education Center and Bayat Adult Education Center. The target group of the project are those who are interested in adult education. We aimed for them to use "Facilitation" in Adult Education, which is little known and heard in our country, in order to motivate adults, increase participation in courses, ensure that they do not see the education they receive as a waste of time and make our education more productive. In order to facilitate the work of the trainer, we aimed to use the Active Learning and Learning to Learn methodology in the course contents in the EU countries, which are ahead of us, and thus to facilitate the work (Facilitation) of all adult educators who have common needs in our institutions, regardless of their branch. What is Facilitation? Facilitation is to create an educational atmosphere by focusing adults to solve their own problems and reach their goals with the right tools and to facilitate their work. Our aim is to include this system instead of the adult education methods we currently apply by acquiring different and new methods other than classical learning methods. This methodology has created a desire for more effective and permanent learning on the trainees by increasing the participation in the courses, minimizing the early course leaving, increasing the competencies of the personnel. In this way, our centers are equipped with new teaching methods and tools, as well as management and staff. It has increased its competencies and helped it reach the international level of education quality for curriculum and teaching by adapting to international innovations with transnational cooperation.
