The objectives of the project are as follows: To raise awareness in the local, especially among young people, about the unconscious consumption of water that is exceeding its limits, which is spent as if there is no end. To raise awareness about depleting clean water resources To introduce the term 'virtual water', which describes the amount of water in all the products we use or consume To exhibit the theater play we created with multinational participation and thus to attract people's attention to the issue of water. To produce simple and effective solutions to environmental problems with the active participation of young people, promoting active citizenship To realize intercultural learning and developing a sense of tolerance towards different cultures To set an example for young people to work and produce projects for the benefit of society To develop social and communication skills To increase the level of foreign language and organizational skills. In addition to theatrical performances, our ASU Theater Group carries out different studies in areas that concern our university, province, and country, and participates in the activities of other groups or institutions. The most important motivation for us to create and carry out this project has been to raise awareness on an important issue that concerns our society and our world and to work for the benefit of society. Following our participation in the conference titled Water and Human held at our university in 2019, it was decided to create a project on the subject of decreasing water resources and unconscious water use as a community. The 'Zero Day' project, an application that was emphasized at the aforementioned conference, was the basic idea that formed the idea of the theater play and the Erasmus project. Watching the events in Cape Town, South Africa, where water use is limited to 25 liters per person per day, has been the starting point of this project. Thanks to this project, we have combined the mission of performing theater plays, which is one of the ordinary activities of our group, with the goal of organizing events for the benefit of society. The contribution of Erasmus Youth projects to the development of participants' individual competencies such as social, foreign language, organization, communication, and intercultural learning is one of the reasons for implementing this project. The fact that the theater event we exhibited gained an international dimension and became a more remarkable activity in our region enabled us to pour our event into an Erasmus project. As a university and youth community, our desire not to be indifferent to what is happening around us has enabled us to create and carry out this project. The problem of decreasing clean water resources in Turkey and especially in our region in recent years is among the important factors that pushed us to carry out this project. The necessity of conducting awareness activities in our province and region is seen as an undeniable fact for our community.
