The starting point of the project was the needs and deficiencies of the group, which is the coordinator of the project, in its work with mentally handicapped youth. During the experiences of the partner organizations in the social inclusion of young people with intellectual disabilities, developments such as the improvement of personal skills, better self-expression, increased participation in social environments and a more active lifestyle were observed in the youth. These local work of the partners with mentally retarded and disadvantaged youth were shared between the partners and the experts involved in the project and a collaboration was developed. Experience and successful results in various social, cultural and personal fields were discussed during the preparation process. Partner organizations agreed that these achievements could be used to improve the employment of young people with disabilities. The project, which was prepared by the project partners with this approach, focused on the employment skills and opportunities of young people with mental disabilities. Thus, a project proposal aimed at the target audience of the partner organizations and their needs was put into practice. In the analysis processes, it was determined that for the employment of mentally retarded youth, their dependence on others should be reduced and their learning should be specially planned. To support this, increasing the awareness level in the society and improving the capabilities of the disabled would also increase their social interaction. The need for the mentally handicapped individual to express himself better, to meet his needs better, and to make himself accepted in the society was among the identified needs. It was clearly seen that a productive disabled and unemployed young person would make versatile contributions to himself and the society he lived in. Naturally, bringing them into the labor market also means contributing to the economy. At this point, it was concluded that it would be easier for the mentally handicapped to participate in working life, whose social communication and individual competences increase. With this approach, the project aimed to increase the employment capacity of disabled and unemployed youth through the development of skills that they can use in social and business life. In general, the project aimed to contribute to the establishment of employment, productivity and social cohesion in society with the cooperation of Europe and neighboring countries. The objectives of the project activities were determined as increasing the social and societal participation and active citizenship of the mentally disabled and disadvantaged youth, improving their employment capacity by gaining skills and competencies, and gaining healthy living habits. During the project activities, studies were carried out that increase the social competence and self-confidence of the young people, support their personal skills and development, contribute to their rehabilitation, improve their entrepreneurship, communication and language skills, enable them to be involved in intercultural interaction and mobility, and develop their safe and independent life skills. Again, activities that will increase their participation in sports activities and enable them to do the right exercises were implemented. Considering a holistic approach, studies were also carried out in line with the targets set for families with disabilities. These studies, which contributed to the behavior training of parents, contributed to their being able to guide their children more consciously. In addition, studies were organized to raise awareness of the society and decision makers, and to increase the capacity of organizations and employees working with disabled youth. The achievements and qualifications achieved in line with these goals were supported by an international cooperation network. Group leaders among the participants took part in organizations that would improve their working capacity and management skills with young people with disabilities. With these studies, their ability to produce higher quality and more efficient works on a local and European scale has been increased. The project strengthened the international dimension of the Erasmus+ Program by cooperating with neighboring partner countries. Participants and partner organizations fulfilled various duties and responsibilities during the project and actively participated in the project management. The studies carried out by the participating youth for psychological, cultural, linguistic and project tasks are supported through information guides, local meetings and social media efforts. Due to the participation of young people with disabilities in the project activities, special preparations have been made and measures have been taken in logistics, educational and technical matters.
