Objectives

The primary objective of our project is to enhance the professional and foreign language skills of our teachers and students through collaborations with institutions abroad. Within this framework, our project is poised to make a contribution to the internationalization process of our school. Our students, who will complete internships abroad are expected to align with the requirements of the Industry 4.0 era as targeted in our 2020-2024 ISP. Additionally, our teachers are encouraged to participate in Teacher Assignment Abroad(TAA) activities. Under the project, we aim for 23 of our students to undertake long-term mobility in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Lithuania, while 26 students will engage in short-term mobility in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Spain, and Portugal. Moreover, we plan for 4 of our teachers to participate in job shadowing in Germany, and 4 other teachers to engage in TAA activities in Denmark and Estonia. These mobilities are intended to foster students' development in terms of both foreign language proficiency and vocational skills, ultimately increasing their employability both domestically and internationally. All of these activities are geared towards achieving the goals outlined in our ISP

Background

Izmit Vocational and Technical High School operates in accordance with the goals outlined in the 2020-2024 Internationalization Strategic Plan, specifically in sections 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3. The mission of our school is to educate our students to be individuals who not only receive vocational education but also grasp universal values, develop an environmental consciousness, remain open to development, and possess creative thinking skills. We aim to prepare them for higher education, the job market, and life in general. Additionally, we aspire to become one of Turkey's leading schools through the projects we undertake. Our internationalization and quality strategy aim to enhance the quality of education, gain recognition for our students and graduates on the international stage, and align with international quality standards. Within the scope of all international collaborations, we intend to nurture graduates who can succeed in a multicultural environment and are recognized as 'global citizens.' We plan to achieve these goals by increasing academic and institutional partnerships. Therefore, our project is viewed as a step towards reaching these objectives, and it is within this framework that we have submitted our project proposal.
