Another important problem about these programs is that they do not have any or sufficient experience in the trainers in the institutions providing the relevant trainings and there is no digital and soft skills competence or trainings workers and students can benefit from. Turkey have clearly seen the problem and launched job training programs. The biggest disruption in these programs is that the written sources are insufficient in terms of content and number. Our training modules will come from sectoral needs. The real problem in the Aluminium sector is that there is no skill match between industrial expectations and vocational education. Because of the lack of competence, employers have no choice but to give vocational education and training themselves. General objective of the action is: Increasing the light metal / Aluminium focused proficiencies of metal technology professional educators and students with the new industry needs-based training program supporting the curriculum. Specific objectives of the action are: • Increasing the sectoral and digital awareness of trainers and students and developing new programs in light metals sector. • Filling the vocational competence gap between Vocational Education and training providers and industry representatives. • Providing online, interactive training platform that is in line with ECVET standards and up-to-date sectoral needs. • Providing an up-to-date Toolbox platform used in aluminium industry downstream production and on-the-job observation service points for VET Scholars, trainers as well as students, blue collars and aluminium industry representatives. • Raising Awareness of VET providers, trainers, administrators, related decision-makers and Industry representatives on the learning outcomes and knowledge gap present in Europe Overall target groups action of the action: • Metal technologies VET Teachers and trainers • Metal technologies VET Students • Blue collar workers who are actively employed under metal industry • VET Schools having metal Technologies branches • Firms operating withing metal industry lifecycle (especially downstream phase) 120 Sectoral Representative from workshops, 150 VET Students and 30 VET trainers from Metal technologies for competence tests, 150 VET students from metal technology, 12 VET Trainers, 60 VET Students from metal technologies for piloting of training modules, 60 Metal industry Firms for preparation of the tool box and on-the-job observation points will be reached Project's primary aim is to increase professional development of VET trainers on Light Metals/Aluminium downstream proceses of light metals through training modules that are aligned to national and Europen level VET and ECVET. The modules will also provide a clear understanding of the learning outcomes and worker profiles and needed competences on these subjects. Our project offers a solution-based soft skills and digital skills training modules to be uploaded to MOOC system and shared with limitless users freely and interactively. Both on-the-job observation points and toolbox will be available on an online platform. A teacher will be able to get into the toolbox check the tools and machines, when he clicks on it, it opens up the available on-point observation points (firms) that gave consent to serve as. Then the trainer will be able to take appointments online. This platform is the best example of developing a partnership to promote work-based learning in all its forms. Objectives

The AluVET project emerged as a response to critical challenges within the VET system, especially in the aluminum sector. Existing programs fell short, offering generic content that inadequately addressed industry needs. Recognizing the disparity between training and industry demands, we identified key issues: outdated materials, a lack of practical experience among trainers, and the absence of crucial digital and soft skills in curricula. In response to these challenges, the AluVET had a clear vision: to comprehensively address shortcomings. Our primary goal was to develop training modules that not only bridged existing gaps but also precisely met the aluminum sector's needs. The misalignment between industry expectations and graduate competence was a central issue, often necessitating additional training by employers. The project aimed to empower students and workers with practical skills, digital literacy, and soft skills essential in the modern workforce. Precise research, collaboration with industry experts, and a dedicated team facilitated the development of industry-specific training modules. These modules equipped learners with technical proficiency, digital, and essential soft skills, ensuring they were job-ready.

Background

The AluVET project originated from a stark awareness of the deficiencies in vocational education, particularly within the aluminium sector. Existing programs were inadequate, offering only basic content that failed to meet industry demands. The gap in training materials and outdated practices exacerbated the issue. Trainers lacked sector-specific expertise, and digital literacy and soft skills were ignored. Turkey initiated training programs, but a lack of quality resources hindered progress. AluVET aimed to comprehensively address these gaps by creating industry-tailored training modules. The project sought to align vocational education with industry expectations, providing learners not only with technical proficiency but also crucial digital and soft skills. The goal was to empower graduates for seamless integration into the workforce, eliminating the need for additional employer-led training. AluVET represents a commitment to transform vocational education, ensuring graduates excel from day one. Through industry collaboration and precise research, the project aimed to create a skilled and adaptable workforce, poised to thrive in the dynamic landscape of the aluminium industry.
