Objectives

This project, coordinated by Türkiye with partners from the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Poland, aims to contribute to the solution of the problem of environmental pollution and climate change affecting the world through recycling. In addition, people were provided with a new job opportunity with the entrepreneurship course given after recycling. With the activities carried out, it was aimed to start a social initiative by involving people from all walks of life, municipalities, NGOs in the recycling movement and to contribute to the entrepreneurship of disadvantaged people by providing courses on the production of decorative items from waste.

Background

The needs addressed in this project are as follows; people do not change their past habits of throwing away most of their garbage with household garbage without separating them, they do not have enough awareness about recycling, they do not know enough about the waste of natural resources, energy and water, and they do not attach importance to this issue because they do not know that unsorted garbage means waste of natural resources, energy and water. Recycling activities should be developed in the countries involved in the project and municipalities should cooperate and share good practices to improve their service performance, special trainings should be given to municipal employees as well as the public, and the participating municipalities should develop a common work plan. Our other goal in this project is to open courses for disadvantaged people with partner countries on decorative items made from waste, to enable them to utilize waste, to lead them to reveal their creativity, and to provide them with the necessary training to become entrepreneurs and start a business. In this project, training on recycling was given to families because vital habits start in the family.
