Objectives

We wanted to achieve the following objectives: -Secure high quality European work experience with the benefit of informing our delivery of Technical levels. We wanted to build on our previous experience so participants would gain key EU competences for lifelong learning including: entrepreneurship and use of initiative, use of digital technologies in the workplace, cultural awareness, communication skills in own and another language, numeracy and literacy and transversal skills of problem solving, creativity and critical thinking. -Develop sector awareness in areas of economic growth or regional skills gap, with an aim to raise employability, education and skills. The key transformational and enabling sectors were Business, IT, Childcare, Leisure (Sport) and Education and students primarily from these areas participated. Participants had the opportunity to understand the characteristics of their chosen sector in different European markets. -Raise aspirations in all VET students through the shared experiences of participants -Develop and embed the College's International Policy with the objective of improving educational practice and vocational training.

Background

We applied for this project to raise aspirations, enable participation and tackle inequality. The College recognised the global world in which students live and have responsibility as citizens. The project aimed to assist the College in preparing students for life in a diverse society, developing their resilience and entrepreneurship as well as raising their awareness of social issues within another European country. The College believed this was best achieved through working with partner organisations in other countries to achieve shared educational goals.
