Our project's ambition was to enhance the competencies of our adult education tutors, including managers and administrators within Gecko and our partner organisations engaged in delivering Adult Education programmes. This initiative was intrinsically linked to our Educational Development Plan (EDP), aiming to: For Gecko: Expand our capacity to manage EU projects, offering a practical avenue to refine and adapt adult educational practices to meet the needs of us and our partner organisations in the UK. This endeavour also sought to strengthen our European partnerships through collaborative work with EU partners. Improve our comprehension of Adult Education practices across other EU countries, fostering a broader perspective and integration of diverse methodologies. For our Trainers and Employers: Foster a motivated workforce equipped with new skills and experiences, thereby enhancing the quality of education provision. Generate savings in organisational training and CPD budgets, a critical consideration in times of financial constraints and limited resources. The implementation of the project has successfully met these objectives, significantly enriching the knowledge and skills of our trainers.
Our project aimed to empower trainers to adopt and apply Adult Education and Training Methodologies proven effective by our European partners. This focus was particularly on supporting disadvantaged groups, aiding them in acquiring skills for further education, training, and entry into the labour market, thus enhancing adult education provision within the UK and for our partners. Through this project, we seek to train our trainers with innovative adult education methodologies that can be applied in the UK or more broadly with other EU organizations seeking to meet the needs of this client group, who tend to be poorly qualified and facing higher levels of deprivation and disadvantage. The training course will provide an opportunity for our trainers to examine, test, and explore the teaching methods used to engage, teach, and up-skill learners of all ages so they can become a productive part of society. Our trainers would explore adult education enterprise, engagement, training systems, progression routes, and dealing with complex barriers to learning. As a training provider, this project has enabled us to design and deliver learning programs, for service users who can be considered as 'hard to reach adults returning to learning
