The main objective was to contribute to the development of rural areas in a sustainable way through new activities and initiatives in agrotourism. We wanted to carry out this project because we have realized that developing our rural areas in a sustainable way will bring many direct and indirect benefits not only to the people from rural areas but to those from urban areas who will get to know our country, traditions, heritage, gastronomy, etc. Our consortium wanted to be the driving motor that facilitates and provides tools to the rural communities for the development of agrotourism businesses and initiatives, transforming our rural areas into nodes of culture and traditions. According to the needs previously stated, it was also important that our organisations learnt about techniques and tools of agrotourism as well as the keys for a successful entrepreneurship in this sector. This was achieved during the course in Spain where P.A.S.O.S. provided us with real case studies and we were able to visit real agrotourism businesses getting deeper vision and knowledge of how agrotourism techniques and strategies need to be implemented.
This course responded to the training needs of the participating entities to improve their knowledge from a leading country in tourism such as Spain. Improve their organisational capacity, project management skills and international projection learning from experienced companies/entities about tourism. Becoming a force of positive change in our society by creating/improving projects that are socially significant, economically viable and environmentally sustainable and that inspire different stakeholders.
