Cultural heritage is the lifeblood of our organisation. Having now becoming gradually being recognised as an organisation which develops touring exhibitions in England, we set out to learn, share and develop best practice in this area, including curation, displays, presentations and evolving partnerships abroad. We also wanted to learn more about other teaching and training approaches for the various age groups that we provide creative workshops for. We work with children and families as well as with adults. These individuals come to our workshops at different educational levels, as from different backgrounds in the community. Thus an understanding of various training approaches and diversity techniques would be a valuable learning experience. The object was also to develop our project and people management skills. We are a project based organisation, who work on multiple projects. it is therefore essential that our project management skills are efficient, especially with regards to allocating resources. Again, we also wanted the opportunity to network with international Museums, and extend the success of our touring exhibitions abroad for potential partnership projects.
This project is to help support our organisation's recent steady growth with acquiring new knowledge and capacity, especially in the areas of cultural heritage and the use of creative arts to support knowledge and skill transfer for our various creative and arts training and workshops provided to diverse groups. In essence, the project will support growth in three key areas: project and people management; cultural management relating to improved knowledge around cultural heritage, and exhibitions; and thirdly, developing new capabilities relating to training diverse audiences using creative arts as tool for learning and development.
