Objectives

The project ‘’ FILM CONNECTION ‘’aimed at raising awareness about human rights issues using various art forms (Photo and Video-producing, Forum theatre and Dance production) to stimulate transformative action and social change. It was a multiple-phased youth exchange, where each phase creates a comfortable atmosphere to exchange ideas, practices, experiences, live and work together to become more active democratic citizens. Each phase has a theme of one art direction: Phase 1 – Photography and Video-making; Phase 2 – Theater and video making; Phase 3 – Video production and video making. OBJECTIVES: To create a comfortable atmosphere without barriers to express oneself; To link theatre, photography and dance with human rights issues and education; To promote human rights and act both locally and globally; To create a space to talk about the human rights issues existing in our societies and how it affect us; To empower each other to address these issues creatively; To promote activism and campaigning skills through creativity and non-violent action; To gain specific artistic skills in ( photography, video production theatre and production) and competences to express ourselves creatively; To develop exchanging atmosphere to reflect on cultures, learn more about other cultures, foster Intercultural dialogue, learning, and awareness; To create artistic pieces together to address the human rights issues locally and globally; To develop a readiness to act, sense of initiative and entrepreneurial mindset through taking part in organising local activities and public events; To create a multiplying effect by setting up an internet platform to share our work and inspire others; To affirm equality, human rights and democracy as a value of modern society and become equality ambassadors. We believe the project contributed to improving the level of key competences and skills of young people, including those with fewer opportunities, promoted participation in active citizenship, labor market, inter-cultural dialogue, social inclusion, equality and solidarity; developed more synergies and interactions between formal, non-formal and informal learning; putting stronger focus on European added values. In addition this project helped a lot of young people to improve their English, their digital skills and get inspired to do more projects that can help the community and solve problems that are affecting them. Also helped them to become more confident and thought to young people about some of the EU programs. Helped to create connection and friendships included working opportunities. A Turkish participant has made international connections with artists and art organisations and he has been inspired to get more involved in his community and take action to improve the issues in his country. A Turkish participant is now collaborating with some of the Italian and UK participants in preparing and releasing a music album. Turkishes and Italians are preparing a project to apply to the February deadline, the UK will get involved in the planning.
