Objectives

Our organisation collaborates with talented and creative young people. Once they came to us with a problem that they couldn’t realise themselves and found an appropriate job with a good payment connected with art. They said that there were a lot of people who didn’t want to pay enough for their work and even their family and friends didn’t believe that ‘an art profession’ it’s ‘a profession'. Then we made a survey of young artists and creative people in our country on what they are thinking about it and if this problem affects them too. We also asked our old partners to do the same in their countries in order to evaluate the actuality and importance of it. The result was that almost all these young people have such problems. So we came to mind that we have to help write a project with those talented youth in order to support them, our creative young people and volunteers were very happy with this idea, and fully been involved in the process of writing the project. We also noticed that the most of these people finish schools or just en-roll in universities studies. And they want to find a job only connected with art but they can’t do it. Furthermore, we found statistics that people at 17-25 ages are unemployed. Especially it’s quite hard to find a job after finishing university. Unemployment rates ranging from 12.9 to 11.8 percent for those art students who have graduated in recent years may prove to be a powerful disincentive for college students interested in pursuing their studies in an arts-related field. (https://news.artnet.com/art-world/artstudents-facehighest- unemployment-rate-among-recent-graduates-35494) There were 808,000 young people (aged 16 to 24 years) in the UK who were not in education, employment or training (NEET) in January to March 2018 (https://www.ons.gov.uk/employmentandlabourmarket/peoplenotinwork/unemployment/bulletins/you ngpeoplenotineducationemploymentortrainingneet/may2018) The youths who came to us with this problem and the youths of our partners who are involved in art helped us to formulate the following problems and challenges: ·lack of understanding of the art labor market; ·lack of the criteria of the art market; ·lack of knowledge how to realize potential; ·lack of knowledge about different programs, training which can help youth to promote themselves; ·problems with self-esteem; ·limited access to resources such as informational, material, communicational; ·lack of support and encouragement. After analyzing the problems we used problem and solution tree and formulated the main aim of the project: ‘To increase the number of young people who are self-employed or work in the art industry and get a decent payment for their work’. Objectives: 1. To increase awareness about the current situation of art professions among participants’ countries. 2. To improve the level of key competencies of young artists. 3. To increase self-esteem of young artists. 4. To increase awareness about opportunities for young artists. 5. To create materials (videos, brochure, etc) to support young artists develop their talents. 6. To create a safe environment for young artists where they will be able to develop themselves. 7. To promote Erasmus+ and non-formal education. The whole project responds clearly to the E+ objectives and priorities: ·improve the level of key competences and skills of young people, including those with fewer opportunities, as well as to promote participation in democratic life in Europe and the labour market, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity, in particular through increased learning mobility opportunities for young people, those active in youth work or youth organisations and youth leaders, and through strengthened links between the youth field and the labour market; Through the project, we are seeking to raise awareness among the young people about that the fact that they can develop many opportunities themselves using and improving their art skills. It is a big issue that the young people get demotivated after they can’t get decent payment for their work or find an appropriate job. Creative and talented people can change the world in a better way but in the beginning, they need support which we can provide. Young people involved in the project would like to show others, that there are a lot of opportunities that can help them during the way of getting a new job related with art and develop their skills with the help of different programs like Erasmus +.
