The training course aimed to equip youth workers and youth leaders with the proficiency to leverage social media, empowering them to effectively reach and engage marginalised young people. Facilitated knowledge exchange sessions empowered participants with various social media skills for optimal youth outreach. The participants were facilitated to exchange skills and knowledge to better understand the application of social media in youth work. This included learning to plan, design, and execute effective social media strategies to better engage marginalised young people. They explored various tools and techniques to create and deliver tailored social media strategies to promote their NGO work, reach and engage young people, including marginalised and hard-to-reach groups, and to promote Erasmus+ programme and its benefits. The activities were designed to take place in a multicultural environment with the participants representing multiple organisations, countries and cultures, thus providing a space where the participants could work within multicultural teams on various tasks and exchange creative, problem solving and technical skills that could help them contribute better to youth outreach and engagement activities within their organisations and their communities. The project's objectives were multifaceted, including: - Addressing marginalisation by leveraging social media to enhance social connections with marginalised youth, fostering positive online engagement within youth work. - Equipping youth leaders and NGOs with broader social media skills to help better utilise social media tools and engage at-risk youth, in turn helping combat extremism in youth. - Enhancing social media skills by empowering participants to design and implement targeted social media strategies, bridging skill gaps among youth leaders for more effective engagement with specific audiences. - Moving beyond basic social media use to cultivate a deeper understanding and practical application of social media tools for professional purposes. - Raising awareness about the Erasmus+ programme to increase participation. - Capacity Building - equipping youth workers with skills for effective planning, execution, and management of social media strategies, enhancing NGO outreach. - Encouraging proactive leadership in digital communications, empowering youth workers to shape digital strategies rather than passively following trends. - Promoting diversity and multiculturalism by offering a platform for cultural exchange and facilitating multicultural understanding among youth workers from various backgrounds. - Facilitating knowledge exchange and enrichment of digital technology skills, multicultural insights, and youth work practices among participants. Ultimately, the project aimed to empower youth workers with elevated social media skills, foster multicultural understanding, and champion positive youth engagement and empowerment through strategic and impactful social media utilisation.
