Objectives of this project were: • To support young people to identify today’s business environment with labour market • To inspire and motivate young people to have an initiative-taking approach to become a successful entrepreneur • To share different example of business and self-employment stories • To discover the job that will be demanded in the future and prepare to be ready for the required skills and competencies • To clarify the concept of the freelancing and its advantages and disadvantages • To raise the awareness of participants about challenges and needs of people with disability when it comes to employment • To help young people to find out information about different youth policies, programs and documents at European level that can support young people to develop competences and navigate through the labour market and business world easier (EU youth strategy, EntreComp into Action, Erasmus+, Erasmus for young entrepreneurs) With this project we wanted to create a space for young people to come together and to share, discuss and learn from each other about employment, entrepreneurship, competences and other topics related to their professional lives. Youth unemployment is challenge all around the Europe – in some countries les in some more but it is always present. With this project we wanted to critically approach unemployment and analyse it from different angles, especially in terms of new trends in labour market, rapid development of technology and how it impacts creation of new jobs which did not exist few years ago, competences which are needed to be competitive on the market, importance of innovations and social entrepreneurship etc. Another important aspect of this project was to raise and explore the topic of freelancing which is very popular among young people but many have wrong idea about or just simply lack some important information to have a full picture and to know how to become freelancers and is it even feasible. With this project we wanted to contribute to understanding of the common misconception that freelancers are “free” and that they can do things applying their own rules. We also wanted to explore this topic in each of the countries and compare similarities and differences to get a broader idea about it and see what can work best for each of the person present. Since this project included young people with certain health impairments and disability, project also aimed at raising the topic and learn more about how working life is for people with disability (in this case with visual and hearing impairments), what are conditions in different countries and how new technologies can help them to navigate business world easier to assure their full rights and existence. Finally, since project was based in non-formal learning, we wanted to emphasise and bring to conscious in which way non-formal learning and youth work can help in empowering and supporting young people on their way to (self)employment. Since having wide spectrum of competences (from organizational, problems solving, communication skills, to leadership, emotional intelligence etc.) is increasing chances for employment or for being successful entrepreneur, non-formal education and projects like this one can help in their overall development a lot which then can positively reflect on professional life. Knowing different European programs such as Erasmus for young entrepreneurs or understanding Erasmus+ in order to get best out of it was also one of the objectives, with tackling the topic of EU youth policies as well.
