The main need, which inspired us to carry out this project was clear - while preparing the project idea we found out that: - Our societies were still quite xenophobic and afraid of unknown; - They were afraid of different cultures and believed that people from other cultures want to dominate or destroy them; - All this fear caused stereotypes and prejudices and was empowered by media, that showed often only the negatives, and missed the positive; - These fake news caused discrimination especially of those with migrant background and led to total hatred to them. Through the project we wanted to achieve: - Contribution in the elimination of the hate speech and stereotypes and prejudices spreading through the media in our everyday lives; - Raising awareness on the discrimination, caused by these hate speech; - To raise awareness of youth on how to recognize the fake news, realize the prejudices and stereotypes and how to avoid labeling people. Besides this, the project aimed to achieve giving general knowledge to the participants about how it is possible to change the mentality of the people around them, which would lead to the changing the mentality and attitude of whole communities towards people with different ethnic, racial, national and religious background. The main idea of the project was to create conditions for acceptance and integrations of migrants/refugees and ethnic minorities in EU and neighborhood countries. Specific objectives were: - To promote inter-cultural exchanges, tolerance and the solidarity in general through the raising awareness on the cultural differences between different countries and to define the role culture and cultural expectations play in equality and in the determination of migrants; - To define and break stereotypes and prejudices and to understand to what extent these are influenced by culture; - To acknowledge the Erasmus+ Programme as a tool for intercultural learning, Youth Work and inclusion; - To create a successful youth network among the participants and to promote cooperation to create activities for stopping hate speech, fake news and discrimination towards refugees migrants and minorities.
