Objectives

During the Youth Green Conference we invited participants from five different European countries (Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Germany and Ukraine) to come together in an intercultural setting, to engage in a dialogue with each other as well as with experts, to explore and discover new field of interest, to develop and improve competences and skills related to environmental topics, including climate change, waste pollution, sustainability and youth action. Another objective of this project is to increase awareness amongst participants on the importance of sustainability for their own generation, to present complex topics in easy-to-understand parts, challenge them to think outside of the box and reflect on their own personal behaviour, as well as to become more self-confident to express their concerns, initiate action and encourage others to take care of the environment. This helped the participants to become more familiar with topics that could help them to develop personally and professionally at a later stage. Through a variety of non-formal and informal activities, a balanced programme of hands-on and educative events actively engaged all participants irrespective to their background. For all participants from five different countries including a Partner country, the main language of communication was English. This helped participants to enhance their foreign language skills and become more confident in participation in similar opportunities abroad in the future. By implementing, testing and evaluating the Curriculum developed during the project, partners aimed to deliver an output that can be disseminated, transferred and exploited by other youth education groups, schools and clubs to improve environmental education through non-formal and informal good practices. Developed within the project Youth Charter for the Environment was disseminated to decision-makers, youth audience and other interested stakeholders in different countries to initiate dialogues and create potential for improvements and actions in the environmental field. It is important tho mention, that the project was implemented during strict COVID-19 restrictions as well as Ukrainian-Russian war, therefore this topics and their influence to the environment and youth were also addressed.
