Objectives

RE-GENERATION - YOUTH EXPLORING SUSTAINABILITY was an international Youth Exchange that brought together 40 young people from 8 countries (Austria, Armenia, Belarus, Czechia, Georgia, Germany, Portugal and Ukraine) for 7 days of exchange, peer-learning and exploring the topics of sustainable development, global interconnectedness, eco-conscious lifestyle and active citizenship. Participants explored fields such as (re-)connection to nature, sustainable living, responsible consumerism, zero waste/waste reduction, upcycling, urban gardening or sharing economy. This project has been developed based on the European Youth Strategy 2019-2027 with its three main pillows of action: Engage - Connect - Empower and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. To contribute to the European Youth and UN SDGs from a bottom-up perspective, we aimed to provide a space for young people for reflection, peer-learning and offer them various tools for taking initiative on individual level and in their environment. The objectives of the project were to: + Raise the awareness of young people around ideas of sustainability, eco-conscious lifestyle, global interconnectedness + Encourage young people to act as responsible, active citizens and strive for positive changes in their environments + Connect young people both from EU and Eastern Partnership countries for sustainable development and nature protection + Empower young people to collaborate and co-create approaches and solutions to environmental and social issues + Contribute to a youth dialogue about the above mentioned Youth and Sustainable Development Goals + Provide a safe space for values-based intercultural and social learning, exchanging skills and practical ideas in the environmental field and creative methodologies for active youth work.
