We wanted to achieve effective empowerment and offer a chance to teen mothers and their children to experience a once in a lifetime journey, which will positively affect their lives. They experienced new cultures in a new country, with different values and habits due to empowering after increasing their competencies within 4 days of relevant workshops. Mostly teen mothers from Belgium and Ukraine travelled to a country Croatia they never visited before, which was exciting for them, according to feedback received. Some mothers faced travel difficulties together with their kids, which developed into a huge learning opportunity. Because of the strong partnerships formed with our other partner organizations, we went deep into their approach to work with teen mothers. Not only we encountered other visions on teen pregnancy and motherhood, but we also experienced them first hand. The participants got to know each other and their stories. Another objective was having open discussions about the subject of teen pregnancy and motherhood, and this uncovered both similarities and differences between various countries. The objectives were: For teenmothers and children: Exchanging experiences about being a young parent Build meaningful connections in a fun, relaxed way. In company with the children Increase their competencies during 4 days of workshops: Active Motherhood, Self Confidence and Leadership, Digital Skills for Self Expression, Reflection and Art Therapy Visit a similar organization that works with teenage mothers, get to know them, and share experiences Learning to communicate in a different language in a different way (Teenmothers and children) Learn the habits of other teenage mothers and other cultures Start looking at themselves and their situation differently through this exchange Experiencing for the first time what 'traveling' can mean for them and their child Receive a Youthpass which can give them recognition in their growth and what they can use when looking for work/training/ etc. Traveling with young children do's and don't Children get a carefree time For organizations: Visiting partners in Zagreb and learn from there expertise Collaboration through learning from each other in approach/ culture A positive image of teenage mothers and children to society The aim of Erasmus+ is to contribute to the Europe 2020 strategy for growth, jobs, social equity, and inclusion. We linked this exchange to the goals for all these domains. Growth: this exchange and the workshops that we are going to give linked to various themes will make teenage mothers stand still and grow as a mother, adolescent, individual. Jobs: we choose to use the Youthpass and want to pass on competences acquired elsewhere to the mothers to have more opportunities in the labor market. Social equity: teenage mothers often have to deal with judgments and are not treated equally. Often they sit between being a mother where responsibilities are expected, stability through a steady income, but they are also still growing, searching relationships, adolescents still want to experiment
