By implementing the project, we hoped to raise the standard of youth work in the participating countries and the EU in general. We sought to provide Youth Workers with the knowledge, experiences, and resources necessary to enhance their professional performance when working with or for our youth. We collected a set of activities, customized them as needed, and produced additional curriculum activities to achieve our goal; to make an impact on participants' lives by improving their self esteem and self awareness. This was achieved by: a) Non-formal activities. We conducted activities such as role playing, Art Therapy, Improvisation etc. These types of activities are designed to assist participants in placing themselves in the shoes of others, thereby boosting their emotional intelligence. We believe that these activities will benefit participants in the future careers working with youth, as they have gained a better understanding of themselves and others. b) Role play. Through role play participants have the opportunity to assume the role of a person or act out a given situation. These roles can be performed by individual participants, in pairs, or in groups which can play out a more complex scenario. Role plays engage participants in real-life situations or scenarios that can be “stressful, unfamiliar, complex, or controversial” which requires them to examine personal feelings toward others and their circumstances. Role playing exercises encourage participants to think more critically about complex and controversial subjects and to see situations from a different perspective. When properly employed, role plays can motivate students in a fun and engaging way. c)Image Theatre: In Image Theatre, still images are used to explore abstract concepts such as relationships and emotions, as well as realistic situations. Participants rapidly sculpt their own or each other’s’ bodies to express attitudes and emotions. These images are then placed together and ‘dynamized’ or brought to life. d)Meditation and Breathing Activities: We use meditation as a tool to calm down our bodies and our minds. We tried through visualization and mindfulness activities to accept our feelings, to acknowledge them without judgment and we try to visualize moments of happiness and joy and let them freely in the paper. We also use creative writing to free their mind from the inner critic and to express themselves creatively. These tools are very powerful, and they can be used in everyday life for empowerment in personal and professional life. e) Art Therapy: Art Therapy: Art therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active artmaking, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.
