We wanted to apply this youth exchange project where youth, immigrants issues, and European values would play a central role. The idea of this youth exchange was born during the project “Catch the Nature’s Rhythm” that took place in Quickborn, Germany. In that project, the participants from Germany, Turkey and Italy shared their opinion about the new immigrant wave and the opinions that citizens from their communities had about them. As it is known, Turkish borders were open to the immigrants and thousands of them passed to the border of Greece and Bulgaria. They tried to escape from the war in their countries. This wave of immigrants will be a big challenge to Europe in near future. The purpose of our project is to show the present situation that is happening in the countries where immigrants came from. The locals should have knowledge of how to behave towards immigrants and accept them to their culture. Interkulturelle Organization consists of immigrants and founder of our NGO came to Germany from Turkey as immigrant because of political issues. He stayed 8 months at the asylum center in Germany and knows how to be integrated into society. He played a key role in this project. By implementing our exchange, we aimed to achieve these goals: • developing tolerance and mutual solidarity by spreading reliable information about immigrants and real experiences of refugees in partner NGO cities, • raising the level of knowledge of youth to enhance their quality of work for young people and among organizations dealing with youth and immigrants issue, • shaping a new attitude among youth of partner organizations to be conscious of the consequences of the radicalization, • empower working of NGO to fight radicalization by giving examples of non-formal activities, • including young people with fewer opportunities to: - expand of the international dimension of activities for young people; - raise participants’ awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity; - promote intercultural dialogue, tolerance and respect for human rights; - get first-hand experience by visiting a welcoming centre; - promote Erasmus+ program, non-formal education and Youthpass importance.
