Objectives

We addressed specifically the need for mobility of youth with fewer opportunities by encouraging and empowering these individuals to travel individually and participate actively in mobility projects, volunteering and studying abroad opportunities. As a result, these individuals are becoming active and mobile citizens in society. We aimed to empower these young participants to improve their personal and professional competences, to take more initiatives, boost their self-esteem and become proactive citizens. We achieved this through setting a frame where participants reflected and improved their personal and intercultural competences, with a focus on intercultural understanding and tolerance through various activities and outdoor experiences. The main objectives were: • Increase the mobility of young people: To raise awareness of working, volunteering, training and (formal/non-formal) education opportunities abroad, encourage individual travelling and increase the capacity of the participants to take part in such activities by increasing the motivation and develop the skills and attitude to participate in such programs and arrange one's own travel experiences. As a result, increase the social inclusion of those with fewer opportunities. • Develop social, individual and civic competence: To develop interpersonal skills and improve the sense of social responsibility of young individuals in order to be more active as citizens at a local, regional, national, European and global level. • Develop cultural awareness and tolerance: To increase the awareness of own cultural context and the cultural context of others and preventing racism, xenophobia and related intolerance amongst youth. And in addition our 6 sub-objectives which were to: - Support the participants in the acquisition of learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences). - Support the professional development of those who work in education, training and youth, in particular the group leaders, the organizers and the involved partners. - Enhance notably the participants' foreign language competence. - Increase the capacities of the involved organizations. - Ensure a better recognition of competencies gained through the learning periods abroad. - Increase motivation for taking part in future (formal/non-formal) education or training.
