Objectives

We want to organise a Training Course on Outdoor Education in order to improve our capacities to use this approach in our work with young people. And we believe that Outdoor Education has the potential to be especially effective for promoting social inclusion amongst marginalised and disadvantaged young people with whom we are working. The aims of the project are: – To provide participants with the foundations of the principles of Outdoor Education (Kolb cycle; action, reflect transfer, frontloading and feedback sessions) – To teach participants simple outdoor games with concrete learning goals which can be tailored to different target groups – To provide experience of a multi-day outdoor expedition and show how this can be used to create an extended learning environment – To create an environment of peer learning where youth workers from programme and partner countries can exchange best practice  – To facilitate the personal development of participants through enabling them to step outside their comfort zone and explore ways of learning how to learn. – To understand the barriers to participation in Outdoor Education programmes faced by certain groups and strategies for removing them – To provide a half-day open event with outdoor education workshops for teachers and pupils of the local primary school in Topil'che – To increase the capacities of international dimension of the partners youth work and to lay the foundations – in terms of knowledge, expertise, and international networks – for organising further follow-up projects, such as international youth exchanges with outdoor educational elements, which promote social integration and inclusion. – to promote Outdoor Education as an effective learning tool to youth workers, organisations and decision makers beyond the partnership.
