Objectives

Fast development of technology/information systems plays important role in lives of youth. According to Eurostat statistics, 80% of young internet users in EU28 are active on social media constantly using blogs, chats & social networks. This accelerated change on internet/new media also obligates youth organizations to be actively involved in new media in order to reach target groups. It provides new opportunities for youth work, supports learning organizations and gives new practices to increase their capacity. Unfortunately, while being active on internet and social networks, young people are facing Hate speech and other negative consequences of social media. We want to encourage using creative multimedia tools in order to raise awareness on social inclusion, to provide information about social rights and to develop knowledge and skills of young people and organizations to support advocacy and local actions. This online engagement also will give us opportunity to involve more young people with different backgrounds and to reach non-organized youth. Through development of local youth initiatives, project will encourage young people to take responsibility in their society. Training course (TC) will give understanding of equal opportunities to create inclusive society and also provide required competences for their effective and continuous local-international actions. Accordingly, project promotes young people’s active citizenship and sense of European citizenship. Project involves young people from different parts of Europe, who have different social, economic, cultural backgrounds. Through putting them in communication and learning together, project directly contributes to developing solidarity and promoting tolerance among young people. While engaging diverse and marginalised youth groups and bringing their aspects on inclusion, project creates natural social interaction atmosphere to foster mutual understanding between young people from different countries, also stands on respect for diversity, recognition of their identities and gives sense of belonging which fosters social cohesion in the Europe. The fact that after the TC our participants will be active in social media and against hate speech online and will further promote intercultural dialogue and acceptance – this also contributes to respect of diversity and fostering social cohesion in Europe. Through exchange of best practices, sharing information and resources, project will contribute to improving quality of support systems for youth activities and capabilities of civil society organisations in youth field. As long-term impact, project will facilitate dialogue between organizations and public authorities, it will be important not only to increase quality of youth work but also to develop structured dialogue and sustainable European cooperation in youth field. Bringing European perspective to local initiatives through networking and online learning exchange, it will develop quality and cooperation not only during the project itself but also afterwards. Objectives: • Reflecting and exchanging opinions about inclusion/exclusion and social rights in different European countries • Achieving common understanding of different aspects, concepts and values of youth work and/for inclusion, including learning about social rights, social inclusion and obstacles with different reference points: employment, discrimination, racism, diversity, xenophobia, poverty, access to education and training, quality services etc. • Defining our target groups of youth with fewer opportunities and exploring needs and consequences of socially excluded (youth) groups around us, in order to be able to improve situations towards more inclusive society • Exploring existing policies on Fundamental/Human Rights in Europe and understanding their connection and implications to youth work for inclusion/social rights in our countries • Empowering youth workers for social media campaigning for further increasing participation of young people for advocacy on social rights for equal opportunities and inclusion • Discussing and understanding how EU social inclusion policies influence our countries being members of EU or having (potential) candidate status to EU and how we can use those in social media campaigning for inclusion and social rights • Creating specific social media campaigns and action plans to be implemented on local levels after the training course • Introducing Erasmus+ Youth in Action programme and the European Youth Foundation and developing new projects and future European level cooperation among partners with the topics of social media and/for inclusion and human/social rights TC is based on the pedagogical understanding of the Council of Europe and the European Commission Partnership Programme and our own experience and expertise in youth work for inclusion and intercultural acceptance.
