Objectives

This project was an opportunity for young people to learn and share information about their culture. Through this project, they had a chance to develop their practical skills to teach other young people about the common ground that all different cultures have. On the other hand, they learned to see cultural differences as a treasure of humanity. The activities also focused on explaining how cultural forms, traditions or cultural expressions we have nowadays as the result of cultural interaction and cultural mixing in the past, in order to experience something new. In this way, the project strengthened their knowledge about how the present society has been formed, based on the past. We thought this is very important for youth workers, youth leaders and youngsters who work in intercultural environments and sometimes need to deal with xenophobic or racist behaviors. This project aims to help the participants become carriers of a mentality that will appreciate its culture in a tolerant and open society. Another reason why we wanted to carry this project is that we wanted to create the materials we can use in order to disseminate the message of the project regarding multiculturalism and tolerance. The idea was to learn how to intergrade other cultures into their culture in a sustainable and interactive way. The participants learned ways to incorporate and embrace the culture, history and politics of other places and ways to monitor and diagnose needs in order to ensure mutual co-existence of other cultures. Another objective that we reached was to give information about the Erasmus plus program, Youthpass certificate, to promote the program in the local community and also wider. The project was linked to the Erasmus + objectives as it contributes to the fulfillment of the national priorities of our National Agency and the EU priorities.
