The aim of the youth exchange was to enable young people to successfully engage in civil society together with others and to work locally on concrete issues that are important to them. The aim was to make them aware of some of the ways in which they can get involved in society as young people. A good way to get involved and draw attention to issues is the "campaign" method. By teaching them the skills to plan and implement campaigns, we wanted to encourage young people to try this form of civic engagement as a way to actively engage in society. This project thus promoted the involvement of young people in social opinion-forming processes and civic engagement. It was a contribution to the promotion of civic engagement and a mature civil society. At the same time, the youth exchange should contribute to the promotion of entrepreneurship, as the ability to develop and successfully realise a campaign involves many entrepreneurial skills that can be used in many ways in a variety of situations in personal life. In addition, the project provided opportunities for idea exchange, interactive learning and the acquisition of a variety of practical skills that enable participants to better work together in groups, question issues (learning how to ask crucial questions and challenge discourses), analyse (problem analysis), develop goals and solutions (problem reconciliation or resolution) and creatively design campaigns that enable actors to achieve their goals. During the youth exchange, each country team was to develop a campaign on a topic of their own choice and then implement it on site, if possible. Each team was given a budget for this. The project was to promote critical thinking to a great extent by having the participants deal with current social issues that are important to them and also reflect on their own views in dialogue with young people from other countries. Through the conception of a campaign, the participants learn by doing new competences to get involved, which shows them new ways to get involved in a participatory way in society. Finally, the project wanted to contribute to intercultural dialogue, to the acquisition of intercultural competences.
