The second half of 2019 until 2022 so far have been one of the most challenging periods that younger generations have ever experienced in their lifetimes. One crisis led to another, fires followed by droughts, and global climate change is calling on humankind more than ever before. There is no doubt that the pandemic Covid-19 has been the highlight of those crises. Coronavirus has affected the lives of urban populations in every single country and has changed the way we live, work, study and play. When applying for this project, we were aware that Covid-19 has posed a common threat to humanity. Unfortunately, it would not be fair to say that the Corona Crisis has been managed peacefully. Violent and unpeaceful developments made it clear that peaceful and holistic crisis management tools and methodologies needed to be developed in order to peacefully collaborate when responding to crisis situations. The training course “Peaceful Response” aimed to equip youth workers with peaceful crisis management skills by providing them with the knowledge and competencies in areas such as nonviolent communication and by introducing them new tools that can be used as a guide by young people. Objectives of this project were: -to bring together youth workers and young activists in order to analyze the effects of the crisis on everyday life; -to increase the competencies of youth workers for addressing the crisis in a peaceful way; -to equip youth workers with non-violent communication skills as a tool to maintain peaceful communication during the times of crisis. -to strengthen the Youth Peace Ambassadors Network with new active members so that it can serve as a space for engagement in peaceful crisis management for young people. - to create a guideline on ‘peaceful crises management for young people and youth workers. “Guide to Peaceful Crisis Management and Communication” -to support youth workers with tools and methods to ensure their well-being during measures like self-isolation, quarantine and other situations requiring a lack of human contact.
