Through the methods of interactive engagement, we aimed to provide an opportunity for younger people to get involved in the field of environmental protection. We believe that there's an ongoing and increasing empathy among younger generations for nature preservation, science, and activism and through our project, we aimed at providing a creative space for a group of younger people to shape such empathy into something practical on their individual and local level. Throughout the project, we tried to give the participants the chance to work with their hands, learn new practical methods, actively engage with nature and visit active initiatives to see their work on the ground. It was important to show the participants that it doesn't really take a lot to change some of your behavior to be more environmentally friendly, and even small actions on a personal level can make a difference if spread widely enough. It was important to us to raise the awareness among young youth of the importance of nature preservation and the significance of the environmental protection areas. Discuss various methods to face human-caused climate change and stop the decline of pieces that have been increasing exponentially during the last period of time. Highlighting the progress with the local and international efforts that have been going on especially in the previous decades, while emphasizing that there's more still to be done. We didn't want such information to stop with the participants, but we wanted them to spread it further through their own local and national spheres of influence. Through the two exchanges in Bosnia and Herzegovina and then in Germany, the participants had the chance to see some differences in the situation of nature-designated areas and wildlife between the two countries. They could see how over time, the limited areas in Germany were dedicated to natural forests, and mires were replaced by humans into agricultural land and metropolitan areas. And while in Bosnia we had to do some walking/cycling to reach a near forest, in Germany we could see how the transportation routes cut straight through nature They could experience how more citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina live in rural areas and directly engage with their surrounding nature compared to the situation in Germany. But also they could see how Germany is doing better compared to Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of scientific research through various environmental and scientific institutions. And also bringing this information to the public through various channels like museums for example.
