By implementing the project, we wanted to bring young people to ecovillages. To offer them an opportunity to explore alternative and sustainable ways of living, to connect and network with other young people, other nationalities and also the older generation in the ecovillages in order to exchange knowledge and practical skills, grow a network that is carrying out future projects in the field of youth and sustainability and for personal growth. The objectives of our project were: PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: This program should enable young people to get to know their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as to gather group experiences, and to be able to master their own life stronger and more consciously. THE INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF YOUNG PEOPLE: The confrontation with a different reality of life and a different standard of living compared to your home country should encourage the participants to deal with the differences and to deliberate about the matter of the course. OBTAINING MEDIA COMPETENCE: Media studies is the classic knowledge based on today's media and media systems. In addition, there are also instrumental qualification skills that are needed to operate new devices. In this program, we gave attention to the relations between participants and their gadgets to find a new way of balance and to realise whether you were digital addicted or not. INCREASE YOUTH WORK IN ECOVILLAGES: Enabling young people to explore different employment opportunities at ecovillages and enabling ecovillages to reach out to larger numbers of young people. SECURING DEMOCRACY, PEACE, FREEDOM AND JUSTICE IN THE WORLD: The youth exchange contributed to political, cultural and social education. Also, to take on social responsibility in the society. The project met the objectives of creating and developing the EU network of young people interested in sustainability, in rural and urban areas, promoting diversity by creating spaces for youth to connect, inspiring each other & starting future collaborations. The objective of fighting the raising level of unemployment was addressed through the mutual activities of the ecovillage members and young participants. Ecovillage members usually start small businesses, create flourishing local economies and engage in social & green entrepreneurship, securing their income & giving meaning to their lives by working in jobs they believe in. The ecovillage model emphasizes a culture that embraces diversity, respects cultural differences, freedom, tolerance and active citizenship.
