We wanted to catalyse a dialogue among young people about gender related topics (e.g. gendered roles in society, discrimination, gender equality, feminism etc.) in order to open up a discussion and challenge their perception and make them reflect on the role of society and historical oppression on them. We brought together a diverse group of young people across Europe to learn together. One of the key element of the project was to discuss and clarify within the aforementioned topics, and with the usage of social media make it more accessible for the young people. Concepts and theories can be difficult to grasp for the youth, therefore this project aimed to simplify and clarify them through diverse non-formal educational methods. Through constructive criticism we are breaking down the topic into more understandable part what are applicable to everyday life, paying special attention of the role of young people in it. We are using diverse non-formal methods with various resources (videos, posters, graphics etc.) on the topic. With this project we aimed to achieve the following objectives: - To connect young people from diverse genders, ethnical and cultural backgrounds; - Open up a safe space for the participants to feel free to engage in deep and sensitive discussions and dialogues; - To pinpoint the importance of the topic in each country, from a solution oriented perspective; - To learn about concepts and theories in everyday life; - To foster personal development and critical thinking by creating an accepting, inclusive and respectful work environment; - To enhance the sense of belonging by sharing common values – within the group and within the European context; - To raise awareness on gender and cultural diversity in different levels (local, regional, international); - To develop sensitivity towards marginalised groups within societies – skills and attitudes; - To compare practices used in the different partner countries; - To promote active citizenship by participation with non-formal educational methods; - To promote digital media content creation skills as a form of awareness raising tools on gender equality; - To create a meeting point for the partners to develop new ideas for further projects focusing on diversity, inclusion and equality as a tool to fight against discrimination of young people; - To promote the Erasmus+ programme with a special focus on Youth Exchanges in order to open up a framework for the young people’s ideas for future projects; - With the help of experienced participants create media content and share them on social media platforms in order to promote the outcomes of the project and spread the message, making the topic of the project the Erasmus+ programme more visible.
