Objectives

The Adventure of Learning Outside is a youth exchange that aims to support the professional development of young leaders/people and to raise the quality of their projects concerning outdoor activities with learning methodologies. We will approach the idea of leadership and outdoors activities on different levels: group dynamics, learning outcomes and intercultural context. The youth exchange uses methods of experiential learning as role plays, simulations and hiking methods and group sharing methods as small and large group discussions. Together, we will be working out and improving 'method toolkit' on how to motivate youngsters for participation in their community and beyond. while learning and improving their personal capacities. All over mission of the youth exchange is to find the ways how to make the issue of outdoor activities attractive and uselful to the youth. We believe that the term "Outdoor Activities" and "Experiential Learning" has become a broad buzz word that is often used without much of specific meaning and content. Therefore, The Adventure of Learning Outside intends to be an attempt at approaching the meaning and significance of European and Eastern European approach on outdoor activities in the context of the group dynamics, learning reflection process and leadership. This we believe, cannot be achieved without a consideration of the other realms where leadership and group building comes into play. Here, duties, responsibilities and opportunities for participation arise from being part of community or nation and to understand and act in order to see our dynamics and learnings are fulfilled. The ways in which these concepts are connected to the notions inside the Experiential Learning area, Reflection and Leadership and its practical examples shall be the guiding questions for the youth exchange using outdoor environment and hiking as a initiator of group dynamics developer. During the project we will also be tackling the topic of healthy lifestyle, as it is semi-outdoor youth exchange and it will involve being outside in the nature and doing physical activities such as hiking. Objectives: - To experience and reflect upon real-life processes of a group and learning from it; - To gain a deeper theoretical and practical understanding of Outdoor Education and Experiential Learning, as well as the dynamics of group processes; - To gain practical tools and methods for group facilitation. - Develop cross-cultural awareness by providing structured space for sharing, experiencing and addressing inter cultural learning. - Developing teamwork, leadership and cooperation
