Objectives

This project was developed with the intention to support the growing network of full-time practitioners and volunteers, who work with young people. We saw a reality where several of the partners that we work with had active young people in their network, who have taken part in Erasmus+ projects before and had developed the interest to open their own NGOs and to work with Erasmus+ both on local and international levels. The idea of this training course was based solely on the real needs delivered to us by these youngsters, beginners-youth workers, who lacked practical guidance on being inspiring and confident facilitators, as well as knowledge and tools to organise a successful project that impacts and touches the lives of young people on a deep level. The main aim was to focus on deepening the understanding of facilitation, improve professional and personal competences, provide a space for practice, understand the quality aspect of projects, create follow-up projects and build new strong partnerships. The specific objectives of the project were: - To develop essential facilitation skills (preparation of activity with the right method, creation of an inclusive environment, clear communication, different target group managements, empathic attitude, active listening, verbal skills, conflict-management, time-management, emotional balance, flexibility, debriefing methods, etc) - To improve professional competences of youth workers/leaders, that would help them to facilitate activities with young people with learning oriented approach; - To provide space for practising and sharing experiences in facilitation in a safe and constructive environment; - To find the ways to overcome obstacles that many youth workers face in the beginning of their career, such as lack of confidence, lack of experience and fear of public speaking, etc. - To acquire competences in the field of project management and tackle all stages of project management from idea development to successful implementation; - To boost creativity of youth workers and help them to think outside of the box while working with young people by using various visual materials to support learning process of their target groups; - To work towards the creation of new partnerships and projects under Erasmus+ programme. From the evaluation and daily reflection feedbacks from participants of this project we can say that all of these set objectives were met for this project.
