The project itself was conceived by young volunteers from PaNoKe and Next Generation with peers in support of, and to complement their creative space areyoulostyet.com which is under the wing of PaNoKe in Estonia and therefore, is entirely youth-led. The project consisted of two youth exchanges with young people from Estonia, Belgium and the Republic of North Macedonia to develop online zines. One exchange took place in Macedonia at the end of October 2021 and the other took place in February 2022 in Estonia. The reasons for the project were to exchange methods and ideas of online activism, particularly in Europe based on the concept of 'Zines' for employability or entrepreneurship. All organisations were youth organisations with small zines that are being developed as separate entities by young people with the intention of sustainably supporting the organisations in the future whilst developing young people's competencies and experience in journalism and creativity. The young people within the organisations have been involved in similar projects locally and wished to expand their horizons and possibilities. The objectives were to exchange knowledge, experience and methodologies through non-formal and practical approaches providing an insight into the workings, management and arrangements of each project's zine as well as developing an intercultural aspect. The project was compatible with the five targets of the Europe 2020 strategy as the project aimed to combat issues of unemployment and was innovative in its methods and design. The project's zines are online and tackle concepts of environmentalism and therefore climate change as well as looking to improve education as well as tackle poverty and social exclusion. The project contained two exchanges, one in each country and therefore promoted mobility for all participants involved as well as lifelong learning. This area was, at the time of application, not covered as much as other areas in the youth work field and we intended to improve the quality of educative methods in this domain. This intercultural exchange involved two exchanges, promoting European equity, social cohesion and active citizenship, facilitating four very different cultures working together in two very different environments. Two exchanges allows all participants see the different attitudes in different cultures to youth journalism and youth work in general, showing the differences in approach but highlighting how similar European youngsters really are, sharing the same issues and interests in all parts of Europe. The project will develop methods with young people for sustainability, employability and personal development. These factors will help to ensure that the project helps the successful implementation of ET2020. The project supports the development of youth work and recognises its values by enabling young people to access available EU funds and programmes. This project seeks to address the need for society to develop through an experimental project that will try out innovative ideas whilst exchanging good practice. This, in turn, recognises the value of cooperation in the European Youth Field. Are You Lost Yet targets the need to increase and improve investments in the provision of suitable skills for the employability of young people through better anticipation in the longer term while promoting cross-border opportunities. The project emphasises peer-to-peer education by facilitating access to existing facilities by making them more youth-friendly. The project encourages young people to participate in a greener, healthy and cleaner future for Europe culturally, work-wise and socially by providing them with opportunities to develop the required skills together. The world is in a state where huge change is needed in the areas of consumption, recycling and diet, this project will aim to combat these issues and raise awareness of sustainable development and other relevant global issues. Specific objectives of the project are to improve the level of competencies and skills of young people in the area of online journalism as well as to foster quality improvement and innovation in online activism through transnational cooperation. This supports the European values of lifelong learning and the opportunities these values hold as well as developing and modernizing training programmes and resources while efficiently disseminating the results. Are You Lost Yet aims to improve learning and enhance the participants' employability through skill and initiative development. An interaction of at least 6 languages will occur (English, Welsh, Greek, Italian, Albanian and Macedonian) improving competencies in a foreign tongue as well as enhancing intercultural awareness. This will occur whilst actively participating together, which will lead to a better understanding of different cultural contexts.
