Objectives

In Greece, sports activities carried out by the government and non-governmental organizations to improve the mental and physical health of citizens are appreciated by the society which developed awareness about the topic. However, it is obvious that the equal distribution of the sports activities carried out in our country can not be fulfilled according to the regions, that some of our cities are lacking in sports awareness, and that the related non-governmental organizations do not work adequately. In the whole of our country, the rate of obesity is increasing; it is seen that in big cities, because of the way of life brought about by our time, individuals prefer fast prepared and therefore unhealthy foods and enough time can not be allocated for sports. In addition, we encounter populations in small cities where fat and calorie foods are consumed and it is not known that these nutrients cause cardiological disturbances and that there is no conscious dietary practice. Obesity is not only a weight problem, but leads to smoking, alcohol dependence, cardiological disorders, psychological problems and social incompatibility in individuals. According WHO obesity is one of the most dangerousn civilization sickness. They predict that in 2030 there will be obese one third of population. These problems are not only the problem of Greek society, but more than 1 billion people's problem according to the World Health Organization's current report. It appears that over 25% of Europe's are fighting obesity (this information is taken from the European Union statistics page: (ec.europa.eu). It is the main outlet of our project to invite today's societies which increasing in obesity problems to raise awareness of the dimensions of obesity and the precautions that need to be taken. The aim of the project was / and we managed to increase the awareness of European youth about healthy life and sports and to direct individuals to active life. The goals of the project overlap with the general objectives of the Erasmus + program, in particular with the title of health and wellbeing: to ensure that young people growing up are healthy, active, open-minded towards personal and social development and that they have gained competencies on the subject and its importance. As a suppoter of EU's 2020 Program of Supporting Active Life, we believe that the purpose and direction of our project is suitable to work within this program. The aim of our project, the physical activity on which it is based, is Zumba which a sports field that its impotance and world-wide popularity increases. Zumba is a sports field which allows the whole body of the individual to move, where music, dance and fitness come together, that every individual of any age can practise it with pleasure and that it contributes a lot to body health and is suitable for the age. This sport, which is practiced in more than 200,000 locations by more than 15 million people in 180 countries around the world, has been overlooked as a simple type of dance in our country which is thought to be done only by women and which its health benefits are overlooked. Many people in the world are beginning to overcome obesity problems with Zumba and are using this to stay healthy and publish their stories in various portals. Zumba is regarded as a solution to the anxiety and other psychological problems of individuals today with the active body, which is beneficial to the individual while healing the physical well-being (http:// zlife.zumba.com/livewell/). Zumba was introduced, learned and promoted more and more because of its active characteristics, its fight against obesity and its widespread use in world societies. From this point of view, it is of utmost importance that Zumba firstly gain more awareness of our participants and our partner countries, then the people of Chania (related to heavy alcohol consumption) and European societies.
