Objectives

The numbers of displaced people that we are seeing in recent years are the highest in history, with one refugee for every 160 people rising to one for every 113 in just ten years. Thus, at the end of 2019, 70.5 million people were forcibly displaced worldwide as a result of persecution, conflict, violence or human rights violations, that is, 2,000,000 more than the previous year. Of these more than 70.5 million, a third are refugees, people who, due to well-founded fears of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a certain social group or political opinions, are outside the country of their nationality and cannot or do not want to avail themselves of the protection of their country, or cannot or, because of such fears, do not want to return to it. Of all those who set out on the road to a better morning exodus, many die of hunger, physical and psychological abuse, etc. and those who survive arrive in an anarchic country where migrants are used in guerrilla clashes, sold as slaves or locked up in detention centers in unsanitary conditions and with the constant threat of torture. In November 2017, CNN denounced that in Libya the practice of slavery derived from human trafficking is common and "mainly affects people who, seeking to flee wars or situations of poverty, end up being enslaved". Although it is complex to measure, it is estimated that in Libya there are more than 300,000 people trapped, many of them in slavery. It may seem incredible in the 21st century, but in the world there are more than 40 million people in slavery. Finally, those who manage to achieve their dream of reaching a "dignified life" in the west have to face the rejection of the native society of each country, psychological abuse, hunger and misery, throwing all economic, human efforts to the ground. , psychological and physical invested by themselves or their family and friends. With this project we want to know and analyze the reasons for these situations, the crude origin, their characteristics, the mafias that benefit from these situations, the social, physical, psychological and bureaucratic impediments that occur in this "race" towards human survival. to achieve goals that in most cases become "prisons" harder than those in their places of origin. We want the participant of this exchange and the partner entities of the project to know first-hand all "this path" that the forced refugee and immigrant has to travel, its difficulties and consequences. Once exposed this context that explains the reason for the presentation of this exchange, we go on to specify the general objectives: 1- Know and analyze the concept of refugee in all its context and characteristics, analyzing the differences with respect to an immigrant and an asylee. 2- Raise awareness about the situation and rights of migrants and refugees, preventing social exclusion, discrimination and racism and xenophobia. Specific objectives: - Identify the physical, psychological, health and bureaucratic difficulties and conditions that a refugee suffers. - Provide information, training and tools regarding knowledge of the phenomenon of refugee exodus, its processes and legal tools for their inclusion, thus eradicating stereotypes and developing key competences in social skills and social inclusion. With these objectives we intend to cover the following needs: - The incipient need in Europe for communication between participants from different countries that allows their alliance to promote in their countries and areas of action all the advantages that this implies, accepting refugees and immigrants as what they are: people. - Achieve a tolerant, civic, humanitarian and respectful citizenship that is capable of integrating the refugee and the immigrant 100% in society. - Eradicate the most intolerant and xenophobic behaviors that lead to extremism in our closest areas of action (such as the local community of each participant). - Break the prejudices and stereotypes that exist around immigrants, often due to their own ignorance of their culture. All these objectives of this exchange are fully in line with the priorities of the program in the year 2020 and for action K1, specifically in how youth work and non-formal learning activities can contribute significantly to serving the needs of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants or raise awareness of this issue within local communities.
