Objectives

Why did we want to carry out this Project? The crisis caused by the Coronavirus disease, Covid-19, has been one of the biggest crises in recent history. On a health, political, economic and public level, the aftermath has only just begun with the writing of this project, and we are not fully aware of the scale of the disaster. Among other consequences, the world of civil society, youth work, and education for human rights has suddenly stopped, affecting countless projects and creating a state of insecurity and alarm among organizations, partners, and young people. From our small organization, Episode IV, we have seen first-hand how the most vulnerable youth, and those at risk of exclusion, have lost almost everything. For Latino, Muslim and Gypsy youth, as well as youth with a migrant and refugee background, the Covid-19 crisis has been devastating. We are talking about young people who no longer had high school studies, absentees, from unstructured families, unemployed, and who are now facing a return to "normal" life in precarious conditions. Since Episode IV, we wanted to carry out this project, in order to promote self-organization, empowerment and citizen awareness of youth from minority communities, particularly Muslim, Latino and Gypsy youth. We have achieved this through a rich intercultural experience, where we have discussed together how to get out of the pothole after Covid-19, it has been essential for us from our work philosophy to create a common, participatory space, where respectful communication and education are not formal youth work, as well as various cultural and educational activities will give young people the opportunity to re-interpret themselves, as positive agents for change. their own communities and cities. What were our objectives? • The creation of groups led by the young people themselves, which during the exchange and afterwards can promote the peaceful coexistence, mutual interaction and reflection on the experience lived during the past crisis, the value of human rights, education for health and well-being, and the importance of social dialogue in times of crisis. It we want to carry out through non-formal education as a fundamental vehicle and different cultural activities. • The fight against Anti-Gypsyism, Islamophobia and other forms of racism, and their historical and structural consequences between the gypsy and Islamic community in the neighborhood of La Cruz in Callosa de Segura, Valencia, social exclusion and the lack of young participation are real problems, the young participants mostly original from neighborhoods economically Depressed and at risk of exclusion have also been stigmatized during the Covid-19 crisis. We want the inclusion and recognition are a main theme throughout the process, for all young people always seeking a balance of gender and ethnic and cultural background. • The strengthening of a network of young representatives of minorities throughout the Valencian territory, where after the crisis of Covid-19 we can use non-formal education and creative methodologies as a vehicle for an inclusive message of reinforcement of the fundamental values of democracy, such as mobilization, mutual recognition, respect and young participation. • The empowerment and self-organization of young Roma, non-Roma, Muslims and Latinos as role models in their own communities We want to reflect together on the importance of education for health and well-being in Crisis times. • Encourage dialogue between the different minorities of the Valencian Community promoting the aspects and narratives resilience cultures found within the distinct traditions of all participating youth. • Promote stories of solidarity and positive values during the crisis, as alternative models to narratives. defeatist and destructive, thus combating digital hoaxes, conspiracy theories, hate speech against young Asians etc. • Encourage participation and return to "normality" as well as youth work in the Roma community. young people, particularly in Valencia, and by extension in all the countries and cities of origin of the project partners. • Encourage the construction of networks among young people from different participating minorities, strengthen young Islamic civil society and Latina with a migrant background in the Valencian territory. • Use youth exchange to revitalize, encourage, and increase the motivation of young people at risk of exclusion.
