Objectives

The project “Diversidad Cultural” involved six organisations from six different countries working together on creating the project. The partner organisations Sonrie a Europa (Coordinator), Spain; Idea for Life, Poland; Youth Center of Georgia, Georgia; Asociația ANIMACT, Romania; Culture Clash4U, Netherlands; ZIFT LIFELONG LEARNING AND EDUCATION ASSOCIATION, Turkey worked collaboratively to promote tolerance and non-discrimination and achieve the project's objectives. The idea of creating the project has arisen because there is discrimination everywhere in the world, and many people encounter it on a regular basis. Due to the increasing number of migrants, most of the European countries are facing a crisis of intercultural tolerance and awareness. It is especially important for youngsters to understand what kind of discrimination can exist around them and what are the values of equality. It is important to give the knowledge to young people on this topic from an early age, both through formal and informal methods. With this project, we aimed to empower youngsters to stand up against discrimination, strengthen their daily work and increase their understanding of rights by using various non-formal learning approaches for non-discrimination work with youth. The project “Diversidad Cultural” had the following objectives: - Learn how to communicate with others using non-violent communication - Exchange knowledge and examples of good practices with an international group of young people - Improve knowledge about other cultures and religions and countries - Raise solidarity and tolerance through intercultural dialogue - Promote youth intercultural dialogue and universally shared values - Overcome stereotypes and intolerance - Organise short workshops about discrimination and intolerance for the local youths - Build an international network of youth - Develop and improve communication skills in English - Raise awareness about Erasmus + opportunities
