The Idea of this project “Climate Action Now! Save the Future” was born in September 2019 by the member of Euro Youth Club - Spain. After our participation on a Youth Exchange in Lithuania in 2018 we decided to work together on this project proposal. We decided to develop this project because we, youth, need to do a change now! We need to spread the word and let understand as much people as possible that we need to me more responsible for our environment. We analyzed how Environmental issues are some of the most profound and complex challenges today and in the coming decades. It is highly necessary to enhance local, regional, national and global capacities to respond to those challenges is increasing environmental awareness. Here the role of youth is central, as we are the rising generations that will contribute to the changement in a positive or negative way. Awareness to the seriousness of the problem needs to be raised We wanted to contribute to a smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in Europe. We are motivated by our acknowledgement of what must be done in order to achieve this, contributing to climate change awareness and seeking basic, simple and collaborative solutions (thinking global to act local); contributing to the well-being of youth & society in general and raising social awareness about plastic-waste & sustainability. We want to support our peers in the acquisition of competences for personal development for better world and society. Project’s goals: In order to save the our planet, we need to change people habits, attitude and behaviour towards plastic and CO2 consumption. Sure, the world reacts to the problem, but still is not nearly enough. That is why we wanted to implement “Climate Action Now! Save the Future” The specific Objectives were the following: - To learn about the environmental problems & share good practices from around the participating countries/regions; - To look for ways/solutions to encourage people to be more eco friendly and to use plastic more responsibly; - To equip youth and young leaders with knowledge, key competences & employable tools related to environmental topics, reducing the plastic and CO2 - Empower and stimulated youth to become active in environmental and climate action - To increase awareness of the problem by creating social campaigns and related public events; - Consolidate partner relations and build bridges for sharing learning experiences and develop common ground to work in the future.
