Objectives

Social Innovators is a program which sought to empower young people to become social entrepreneurs. We have worked with young people from countries such as Turkey, Armenia, Croatia, Greece and Spain, for more than a week, where social entrepreneurship has been the fundamental axis of the project. Some of the participants came from backgrounds with fewer opportunities, such as geographical or economic obstacles, discrimination for social reasons, etc. All of them have been assisted by experienced Cohope staff and a focus was maintained at all times to enhance entrepreneurial learning in a practical way. The activities were designed according to successful business practices, experiential activities, Learning by Doing, learning by creating projects, exploring reality, role playing, etc. The objectives of the project were: - Bring together 32 international young people and, as far as possible, with fewer opportunities, and exchange knowledge on tools, methodologies and good practices on entrepreneurship in each partner country; - Facilitate the access of international participants with people from the local community of Hondarribia, to better understand what social entrepreneurship is and how it is experienced in the region; - Learn cooperatively about best practices in social entrepreneurship and stimulate entrepreneurial learning; - Promote female social entrepreneurship; - Etc. Social Innovators has aimed to raise the self-esteem and self-awareness of young people with fewer opportunities, enabling them to be active citizens, to support cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. In addition, their participation in the project has sought to increase the awareness of the participants about European citizenship. By working together, they came to the conclusion they belong not only to their own country but also to the European Union. Social Innovators is also linked to the following Erasmus+ objectives: - Improve the level of key skills and abilities of young people with fewer opportunities; - Promote participation in the labor market; - Promote active citizenship and combat social exclusion.
