Objectives

We wanted the participants to be able to use the theatre of the oppressed to improve their competences, self-awareness, communication and expression of their ideas. We also wanted them to learn how to use Theatre of the Oppressed as a working tool to advance social and emotional skills. We wanted them to acquire techniques so that they could prepare small plays, setting up simple scenarios and characterisations to express their ideas to other young people and to society. We wanted the meeting to enhance the exchange of ideas and knowledge among the young participants, improve their level of skills, attitudes and resources (such as teamwork, expression in foreign languages, non-violent communication), improve their self-confidence and their capacity for leadership, creativity, analysis and innovation. We wanted to approach and motivate the young participants to enter the world of volunteering and youth work, improving their employability. We also wanted to generate an online documentation that would serve to introduce other young people to the theatre of the oppressed. In addition to the objective of disseminating the theatre of the oppressed as a technique of social intervention and inner prospection and to acquire knowledge and techniques that would allow them to perform small theatre performances, we had other general objectives such as: - To favour the exchange of ideas and knowledge among the participants and to see the similarities and common objectives of young Europeans. - To promote equality and respect in all aspects, social integration and environmental concepts of sustainability. - To promote active European citizenship, democratic participation, mutual respect for different ideas, consensual decision-making and intercultural knowledge and exchange. - The acquisition of competences to value the resources provided by waste materials in the work with young people, in order to generate products with non-consumerist and didactic purposes, always looking for the sustainable development of the place. - Enhancing the role of youth organisations to promote mobility, interculturality and European integration.
