Objectives

The seminar is designed to provide a participatory space and give the possibility to actively participate in an international seminar, where cohesion, understanding between different cultures, solidarity and democracy are promoted. The participating volunteers can carry out the activities proposed during the week, while developing their skills, competences and knowledge through their commitment to solidarity. During the seminar, the aim was to find common ground on international volunteering, during pandemic and post-pandemic times. Thanks to the ability to work together and sharing of ideas, the seminars tries to give visibility and response to different points, looking for the creation of volunteering initiatives in times of emergency. In response to the Covid-19 crisis at local level, also looks for resilience to initiate and manage emergency volunteering initiatives during crises and disasters, the use of digital alternatives (digital volunteering, camps and webinars), created by youth and volunteering associations and creating and implementing good practices and long-term volunteering during and after the crisis. The objectives of the project can be summarised as follows: -Collecting lessons learned and best practices on how to adapt our work and objectives to a situation where the physical distancing is necessary and travel is impossible. -Creating new forms of international volunteering and youth work. -Evaluate currently developed approaches, such as digital volunteering camps. -Understand the use of non-formal education in a digital environment. -Learn about local emergency volunteering initiatives that have been set up. -Analyse how the crisis influences long-term volunteering projects abroad. -Understand new risk management metrics to be implemented. -Create new approaches to volunteer management taking into account new risks. -Understand the social consequences of closed borders and how organisations can contribute. -Analyse how to contribute to the fight against new conspiracy theories and misinformation spread on social media among young people. -Assessing how the crisis is connected to issues such as exclusion, racism, sexism, ecology and climate, etc. -Promotion of Erasmus+, Youthpass and non-formal education.
