Eurostat reports youth unemployment figures over 23.4% of people aged 15-29. Almost one in four young people is out of work, and in some regions of the European Union the figures account for up to two, thirds. Particular attention should be paid to young people who do not work and do not participate in education and training (NEET). Social entrepreneurship aims to facilitate access to employment and to provide support for the social inclusion of vulnerable groups by creating the right conditions for their professional integration in the sphere of the social economy. Social entrepreneurship signals the imperative to drive social change, and it is that potential payoff, with its lasting, transformational benefit to society, that sets the field and its practitioners apart. Social Entrepreneurs for More Inclusive and Innovative Societies (SURVIVE) is a training course on social entrepreneurship, which will be held in CERGY-PONTOISE between 4-10 October 2020. During the training we will introduce the youth workers with: • Definition of what social entrepreneurship is. • Entrepreneurial Context • Entrepreneurial Characteristics • Entrepreneurial Outcome • Shift to Social Entrepreneurship • Boundaries of Social Entrepreneurship
