Objectives

The objective of the "Recyclity" project was to encourage young people to protect the environment by recycling and reusing old materials. The project aimed to raise awareness about environmental problems, empower young people with skills of creative recycling and creating media outputs to react to environmental problems in an innovative way and transfer it to their everyday lives, and encourage and motivate young people to become active citizens in their society. Other objectives included improving participants' media and promotion skills, promoting Erasmus + opportunities, intercultural cooperation, and non-formal education, enabling participants to work in an intercultural environment to discover new cultures and countries and hence increase tolerance and acceptance of diversity, and improving participant's ability to work in a group and to cooperate. The project combined creative recycling with media to enable participants to spread the techniques to a wider audience and disseminate the project's outcomes on an international level. The topic of creative recycling was chosen because of its potential to appeal to young people, and the project linked to the objective of the Europe 2020 Strategy: 'Climate change and energy sustainability' and contributed to the achievement of European cooperation in the youth field, which is a general objective of the Erasmus+ program.
