Objectives

Thanks to the project "Fonker" we now want to use the music as a tool to promote the dialogue of cultures, a tool to create interactions between European youth, but also a tool to stimulate confidence in myself. The proposed activity had the objective of providing a space for experimentation, creation and coexistence around music and dance, among young people, thanks to "experts" and facilitators and the co-construction of non-professional-formal education activities by the cluster. Throughout the writing, planning, and implementation of this project, we have focused on music as a means of expression, self-transcendence, promotion of traditional cultures, and promotion of tolerance. Our starting premise, it is not necessary to be a professional to sing or dance, aimed to create a space without prejudices to promote the acceptance of others, as well as the acceptance of one's own vulnerability to facilitate the inclusion of audiences. . "Fonker" project aimed to offer its participants different artistic practices thanks to the multiple project partners and local "experts" who aimed to introduce us to the local traditional musical cultures of La Réunion and in particular Maloya. A particular madness was offered about traditional “folk” music: Celtic music from Galicia (Spain), German folk music, Maloya (La Reunion), because they are true tools to tell a story, a culture, and connect with others. in our diversity. . Through this project, we seek: - To promote cultural exchanges and strengthen intercultural dialogue through the exploration of artistic practices (corporal expression, dance, music) and participation in local cultural activities in La Réunion to foster cultural awareness among different audiences and affirm tolerance; - To equip youth exchange participants with non-formal methods of discovering and practicing music so that they can reuse them in their professional and personal spheres; - To provide the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge, experience new cultures and traditions and meet different communities to promote social inclusion and value diversity through the practice of the arts; - to present the Erasmus+ program and all the learning, development and participation opportunities it offers to young Europeans (especially in isolated/rural areas like La Reunion Island, for example); - To invigorate, empower and equip those who have experienced inequality or social exclusion, whether or not they come from disadvantaged backgrounds or have fewer opportunities due to economic, geographical, cultural or social difficulties; - to promote cooperation and the exchange of methods, activities and experiences between the different associations of the Program countries. Create connections between artists from different parts of the European Union and from different musical universes. Concretely, we wanted to offer 8 days (+2) of youth exchange with a program co-built between the different partners and the participants, offering different activities, discoveries and methods around music and dance, and organizing together the "highlight " of this week of exchange through the co-construction of a key moment of the "concert/performance" type that allows us to appreciate both the concrete exchanges of this project, the connections, practices and traditions of each one, at the same time that makes this exchange visible to the local population.
