The association Réseau d'Entraide Volontaire wanted to welcome and bring together young Europeans in the implementation of a collective and participative project in order to participate in the construction of another world. It is therefore around the theme of clothing, dress and appearance that these young people met and, through workshops, debates and exchanges, were able to address the question: "How can we rethink our relationship to clothing to create a change in society and contribute to a better world? This youth exchange had several objectives, notably to do and live together, a value inherent in the projects developed by the Solidarités Jeunesses movement, of which the REV is a part. The project's activities, workshops and debates, were intended to question the inequalities linked to clothing, caused by gender, gender expression, social class, geographical, ethnic or cultural origins. Furthermore, one of the objectives of this project was to promote the emancipation of the participants, and to reinforce their sense of belonging to Europe through the intercultural dimension of the project and by sharing their experiences and testimonies. The activities proposed aimed to bring the young people to reflect collectively on society's injunctions on appearance, to help them find a balance between self-expression and integration within a group. The artistic and technical practices were to lead them towards greater autonomy, better self-esteem and greater well-being. The REV wanted the participants to experience not only geographical but also cultural and social mobility. Indeed, sharing one's daily life for a fortnight with other young people from other countries, other cultures and other social contexts was intended to help them discover others, develop empathy and acquire good practices in terms of inclusion, respect and tolerance. Finally, this project aimed to implement and/or consolidate environmentally responsible practices. The REV association puts environmental issues at the heart of its projects. Through debates and workshops on the impact of the textile industry in terms of pollution, on the inequalities that it can convey at the global level, particularly with regard to working conditions. This youth exchange "Clothes for Change" was intended to be dynamic, participative and collective, anchored in the reality of the local territory. Meeting each other, developing one's autonomy, critical thinking, sense of initiative, ability to work in a team and experiencing interculturality were the major objectives of this project.
