The environment is an important issue for today's society. "Ensuring access for all to reliable, sustainable and modern energy services at an affordable cost" is one of the Sustainable Development Goals. The Concordia association has been involved in the climate cause for several years. Through the organisation of "international workcamps" and medium and long-term volunteer projects, Concordia has been actively involved in environmental protection. After about two years of waiting for the evolution of the covid-19 pandemic, our delegation was finally able to launch this "energy transition engagement project". With this project, we wanted to promote a better understanding of the different types of energy that exist, and how to encourage an energy transition through individual or collective actions. One of the main objectives was also to: encourage exchanges and debates between young people from different countries on the theme of ecological transition (on the problems encountered in each country but also on the solutions provided) and to allow the contribution of knowledge and ideas for awareness-raising tools thanks to the interventions of local associations. Our project was built with partners from geographically distant countries, French, Greek, Spanish, Lithuanian and Ukrainian, which made the exchanges particularly interesting. Our objective was to develop the participants' curiosity and open-mindedness, to inspire them to become committed European citizens and to become drivers of change once they return to their home countries, by reusing the knowledge and awareness-raising tools created with various audiences (relatives, friends, associations, etc.). The methodology was necessarily participatory (ice-breakers, role-playing, thematic discussions combined with specialisation time, practical workshops, visits to projects carried out at local level, case studies, focus groups, discussions in small groups and/or in plenary). Indeed, participants will be encouraged to play an active role in the learning process. In the project as it was conceived, the youth exchange was also intended to bring together young Europeans and local young people, so that it could spread throughout the territory. Through this project, we wanted to - To allow young people to exchange in another language, to learn in contact with another culture; - To enable young people to improve their self-confidence through inclusion in a group and the conduct of activities; - To improve young people's knowledge of renewable energy and energy transition; - To learn how to create an awareness-raising activity so that, when they return to their country of origin, they can be a vector for raising awareness of the energy transition. In summary, the ambition of this youth exchange is to train the participants to be ambassadors of the energy transition: - To provide an informal platform to get to know each other's country and culture, as well as to facilitate linguistic and intercultural exchange between young people; - Build trust between young people through teamwork and group activities - Provide practical knowledge on climate change, energy transition and renewable energy - Share learning techniques through non-formal educational methods that could be used to raise awareness in other communities - To encourage European citizenship - To promote international mobility
